What is Montmarena?
Montmarena is a space where questions and curiosity are the highest currency.
Think of it as a space for baby entrepreneurs to be mentored by mama entrepreneurs.
Montmarena was built as a space for asking the right people the right questions, without fear of judgment or critique.
It’s a monthly membership where entrepreneur-minded women can find support from mentors and other women on a similar journey.
We’re here to grow businesses and lives.
Why don't you accept MLMs?
Montmarena is built for entrepreneur-minded women. We’re here in support of small businesses, which include creating, branding, and growing your idea.
Multi-level marketing businesses, or MLMs are especially predatory towards women. We don’t stand for that at all. They’ve damaged us as mentors and women and friends we’ve coached.
Even the FTC warns against MLMs.
While MLMs may have a place in your life, they have no place here. We’ve intentionally decided to exclude MLMs because of predatory practices.
We’re here to build mentor relationships, not sales channels.
Why Women?
Because bro-marketing is exhausting.
Historically, women have supported each other. They’ve been the “village” raising everything from crops to babies. Women are the foundation of society. And we need each other.
Strong women need strong women.
And we need strong women in this world.
We’re not here to keep you feeling broken. We’re not going to sell you a bunch of products that build our own businesses and keep you marginalized.
We’re not about pay-to-play.
Montmarena exists to support women who are ready to change the world with their business idea. Sure, it may not change the whole world, but it might change yours.
And even small worlds matter.
I'm Non-Binary - Can I Still Join?
Yes! Absolutely.
We’re here combatting “bro” marketing and hustle culture – typically (though not always) found and perpetuated in the cis-white-male community.
If you are trying to find a different way to entrepreneur, we’re here for you. (And in full support of everything you are!)
Why Mentors?
Remember that classic buzzword “synergy”?
The interaction of two or more energies is greater than the sum of of their separate effects.
It’s that… but it’s also so much more.
Mentors aren’t here to tell you what to do.
We’re here to help you get the juices flowing. To inspire you to listen to your gut, learn from the collective wisdom of those before, and trust that you’re making the best decision for you.
We’re here to empower you to change the world.
None of the mentors will claim they have a silver bullet solution. What works for one person might not work for someone else.
That’s the beauty of entrepreneurship.
What does Montmarena mean?
Montmarena is a blend of two inspiring spaces:
Montmartre
Montmartre is a district in Paris where artists such as Picasso, Renoir, Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Manet spent their time.
It’s a gathering place full of inspiration. If you wanted to be inspired by other artists, Montmartre was the place to be.
The Arena
Theodore Roosevelt’s quote The Man in the Arena reminds us that it’s not the critic who counts.
Instead, the credit belongs to the women in the arena. The ones actually doing the work.
When the idea for Montmarena was born, it was a blend of these two concepts: a gathering space for entrepreneurs to be inspired by others doing similar work, and being IN the arena.
